Interferon alfa-n3 is a protein. Interferons are released in the body in response to viral
infections. Interferons are important for fighting viruses in the body, for regulating production of cells,
and for regulating the immune system.

|
Interferon alfa is a family of homologous, species-specific proteins and, occasionally, glycoproteins with antiviral, antineoplastic, and immunomodulating activities. Available as interferon alfa-2b (Intron ® A; single interferon subtype, recombinant preparation); interferon alfacon-1 (Infergen ® ; genetically modified interferon protein); and interferon alfa-n3 (Alferon N ® ; a mixture of naturally occurring human interferon alfa proteins).

Interferon alfa-2b is made from human proteins. Interferons help the body fight viral
infections.
